A NEW online shopping service selling products sourced exclusively from Evesham businesses will soon be available in the Vale.

The service is on the brink of being launched as part of a new initiative by Evesham man Tony Fisher.

The online shop will source goods from traders in the town and then deliver them to homes across the district.

Mr Fisher, who is also behind on-going plans to transform the derelict ground floor of the town hall into a café, said it was the first step in his Local Initiative For Enterprise scheme.

“It will be like a supermarket website,” said Mr Fisher.

“The customer will order the goods and then they will be delivered to their door.

“The business will make profit but a percentage of that will be put back into the community.”

The father-of-three had always wanted to set up an online store but was spurred on to do so after hearing a national company offering a similar service could be setting up in the town soon.

“I thought it would be better if I did it and some of the profit will go back to the community.

“Now it is a matter of getting people on board. I have four shops interested and a further four or five are in discussions. Once it is started it will build momentum.

“They are all independent traders. I have a sweet shop, a jewellery shop, a pet shop and a butchers.”
