THIEVES stole thousands of pounds worth of jewellery from a property in Broadway while its owners were away.

Sometime between 8.30am and 12.30pm on Friday, April 5, the thieves broke into the property in Church Street by forcing open the door to a garage to gain access.

They then used a ladder to climb onto the roof and reach a window, which they forced open with a some sort of implement.

Once inside the property it seems the thieves carried out an extensive search of several rooms before stealing a number of items and making their escape from the property the same way they entered it.

Police believe the thieves’ targeted jewellery when they carried out their search and eventually made their escape having taken items believed to have a value of thousands of pounds.

The occupants of the property were away when the burglary occurred so the exact value of the stolen jewellery is not yet known.
