THERE is no longer a reason to have a bad hair day or chipped nails as a salon introduces new measures to make it easier for people to visit them during the bridge disruption.

Panache and Chi Salon in Evesham High Street has decided to offer free parking, longer opening hours and an online product service to keep people coming to use their service as the rebuilding of Abbey Bridge continues.

Owner Vicki Baker said she was hoping it would counteract problems customers may have had travelling into the town.

She said: “I am sure the traffic at the bridge has to have made some difference.

It is certainly a concern, especially with it going on longer than we thought it would.

“We are still busy and keeping afloat but obviously I always want to be busier.”

The salon will now be open until 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 8.30am on Saturdays. There are also permits available from the salon so people can park off Leicester Grove and a Facebook shop at panacheandchi evesham where customers can purchase products, which are delivered free of charge.

Vicki said: “I think it is important for us to open late nights. With people working and the bridge, it is important to offer as much as you can. You are always thinking what can we do. We want to get people into the town and make the most of us because if you don’t use us then we will be gone.”

A fund-raising event to show what the shops in the town have to offer is being held by the salon at the Evesham Town Hall on Saturday, August 17.

The show, in aid of the Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust, begins at noon and tickets, costing £5 for adults with children under 10 going for free, can be bought from the salon at 69 High Street or by calling 01386 442926.
