THERE were scenes of celebration when pupils from an Evesham school recreated a church wedding.
The Year 2 class at Swan Lane First School took part in the annual tradition of holding a ‘mock wedding’ at All Saints’ Church, Evesham, last week.
Six-year-old bride Louise Clements and groom William Green, also six, were joined by four bridesmaids, a best man and their ‘father’ and ‘mother’ for the ceremony which was attended by the rest of the class along with parents, grandparents and well-wishers.
The ceremony, led by Reverend Andrew Spurr, was part of the children’s Religious Education studies to learn about Christian celebrations and festivals.
Class 2 teacher Chris Forrester said: “We thought there’s no better way to learn than to take part in one. The children really enjoy it.”
