THIRTY-six new homes will be built on the outskirts of Evesham.

Redrow Homes Midlands was seeking approval of landscaping and open space works on land north of Broadway Road after its original plans were given approval following an appeal.

Despite getting the green light from planners at Wychavon District Council earlier this month, some concerns about the homes were raised.

Galen Bartholomew, who lives next door to the development site, spoke against the plans, saying Redrow Homes had used old plans that did not take into account an extension on his own property and had not placed bungalows along the boundary with his land as he had expected.

Coun Emma Stokes said: “Previously it was determined that it would be dormer bunglaows on that boundary.

They have since won the appeal and taken no notice of the local member or residents.

A low perspective on these dwellings would be better.”

However, Coun Rob Adams said he thought even if this problem could not be rectified, the plans would still be acceptable and the scheme was approved with 11 councillors in favour and three absentions.
