A ROADSHOW aiming to raise awareness of bladder and kidney cancer is coming to Worcestershire.
The ‘Be Clear on Cancer’ event will be visiting Riverside shopping centre, Evesham, on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 19 and 20 as part of an ongoing NHS campaign.
Figures show that more than 1,700 people were diagnosed with kidney or bladder cancer in the West Midlands in 2010, with almost half dying from their condition.
But health chiefs are concerned that despite the prevalence of the conditions, many people would not be able to recognise the symptoms.
One of the most common signs of both conditions is finding blood when passing urine. But in a recent survey almost a third of people in the West Midlands said if that happened to them, they would wait and see if it happened again before seeking diagnosis.
