AN Aladdin’s Cave for the home dressmaker is ticking along nicely during the closure of Evesham’s Abbey Bridge.

Owner of Evesham Fabric Shop Joyce Moran said she wanted to thank all her loyal customers who have made a “supreme effort” to come to the shop during the closure period which is due to come to an end later this month.

The shop on Avon Street, off High Street, in Evesham town centre stocks numerous items of use to a home dressmaker including fabrics, haberdashery, patterns and more.

Mrs Moran is also able to recommend tried-and-tested professionals offering sewing machine service and repair and allows local dressmakers, tailors, curtain makers and crafters to display their adverts free of charge.

She said: “We welcome customers old and new to have a look around and a chat as we often do. Our customers range from school pupils and adult beginners to professional dressmakers, brides, dancers, theatre costume makers, upholsterers and hobby dressmakers and crafters.

“Our staff are experienced sewers themselves and offer a friendly and personal service, always willing to offer advice and guidance if our customers need it.

“Thank you to all local schools for your continued support and good luck with you textiles projects.

“There have been some brilliant results from local schools over the years and we are happy to help where we can.

“We are constantly updating our stock, attending trade shows and keeping up with modern trends and demand. We are renowned for the high quality and variety of our products, as well as our unbeatable prices.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to say that we will carry on trading as usual while building work to extend Yates Court into the old market site is carried out behind the shop and look forward to the opening of the new extension.”
