POLICE were sent out in force to the Warndon area of Worcester last night after they were called to a domestic incident where threats to kill were allegedly made.

Local residents reported on Twitter that officers were telling people to stay indoors, and helicopters were called out to search for an alleged offender.

One tweeter said that armed police had been seen in Ambleside Drive, and another that police were telling everyone everyone in Warndon to stay in and lock their doors, and that they were searching gardens.

The National Police Air Service, Birmingham, which provides helicopter cover for West Mercia, tweeted at 12.30am this morning that it carried out an “area search for offender... large areas and gardens cleared for ground units”.

In a statement released at 10.40 this morning, police said: "Officers were responding to a domestic threats to kill incident at an address on Grasmere Drive. Inquiries at the scene established that no offences of this nature were committed and therefore no arrests have been made."
