I made this post on the FB page too, so apologies to those who have to read it twice, but I want to make a point!

My points is what about those who have vehicle capable of traversing the water in town? This morning I was turned away by police, who in all fairness were just doing their job, who said that I would get through in my vehicle fine but they weren't allowed to let me through as they'd been told not to. Surely we should be afforded the privellage of being able to access places if we have the means?

Not only would I be able to get to where id want to go if certain vehicles were allowed to go through it would go some way to easing congestion elsewhere!

I can appreciate they don't want people getting stuck but some people do have some common sense, yes I know its not a given in this day and age, and can judge when something is passable in suitable vehicles!
As a variation on this (also previously asked but no response).

Why is the outbound route across the bridge closed when Bridge Street and New Road aren't flooded?

The "powers that be" seem to have a massive credibility problem that they aren't addressing with what their decisions are based on. As long as they keep trotting out "safety" without any facts to back it up they will come across as a complete set of incompetents.

Who's actual decision is it to open or close the road, or are they all going to hide behind the "Silver Tactical Group" flannel?"
