PERSHORE Golf Society has donated hundreds of pounds to Help for Heroes after a year of fundraising.
The society, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, raises money for a charity of the captain's choosing each year.
The club captain then devise various ways of collecting money in the form of fines from members and at 10 events over the year.
Last year’s captain, Ian Brazier, chose Help for Heroes as his charity and with the assistance of his vice-captain, Andy Price, managed to raised £750 from the club's 40 members.
This was achieved by fines for three putting, any other misdemeanours on the golf course, together with a sweepstake run at every event.
