RACE season is fast approaching and next week the Cheltenham Festival will get into full swing.

To get the low down on which horse to back on the betting slip head to the Fleece Inn at Bretforton for a preview evening with a highly respected panel of experts at one of Worcestershire’s most popular village pubs.

On Sunday, March 9, from 7pm, the Fleece Inn at Bretforton welcomes from the world of racing, British Horseracing Authority (BHA) head of handicapping Phillip Smith, top jockey Sam Twiston-Davies, and highly respected local trainer Dan Skelton.

Phillip Smith said: "We’ll be taking a good hard look at the 2014 Cheltenham Festival and sharing our views on the riders and runners, their form and the predicted outcome for every race.

"We’ll answer any questions from guests, so for many it could be money very well spent."

Tickets to the Fleece Inn’s festival preview are £10 and available over the bar or online and the money raised will be donated to Bretforton’s Community Shop.

Festival week then continues at the Fleece with punters able to enjoy big screen racing throughout the day and re-runs in the evening.

Breakfast is also available from 8.30am with groups of six or more asked to book in advance, with any pre-orders of champagne receiving a 20 percent discount.
