VIEWS of the Evesham Bell Tower and the town's two churches can now be enjoyed from two new benches after they were officially unveiled.

The two new wooden seats in All Saints Churchyard have been donated to the town by the Friends of Evesham Parish Church and Bell Tower.

On Saturday (Aug 16) they were given the thumbs up by the town Mayor, councillor Charlie Homer, when he performed the formal ribbon cutting at a small ceremony.

And the benches are already proving popular with local people and visitors alike.

Dr Rex Colwell, chairman and founder member of the Friends, said he was delighted to see the seats in place.

"They give a wonderful view of the beautiful Bell Tower and the two churches, and it is lovely to see so many people already using them," he said. "The Friends have pledged £15,000 towards the Bell Tower Appeal but were keen to do something else for the town."
