KIDDERMINSTER Harriers manager Gary Whild wants his players to consign their FA Cup disappointment to history and focus on climbing the Vanarama Conference table.

Harriers, who reached the fourth round last season, fell at the first hurdle this time around with a 1-0 home fourth qualifying round defeat to league rivals Eastleigh last Saturday.

Tomorrow, they return to Aggborough against Torquay United (3pm) looking for a first win in three, having lost at Halifax and drawn at Barnet prior to the cup loss.

Whild said: “Clubs are always looking at the FA Cup as a possible cash-cow. But when you’re looking at that and relying on it, it quite often doesn’t work out. We need to move on – and quickly.

“Torquay have become a bit like us. They started the season with a good run, but now they’re inconsistent”.

Harriers have dropped to 12th in the table, while the Devon outfit, who are also out of the cup after losing to Aldershot, sit ninth.

But they are only one point better off than Kidderminster after back-to-back league defeats against Grimsby and Alfreton.

Whild added: “In our first seven or eight games we were out of the traps early – but at the minute there’s a little bit of a dip in form with one or two of the players and we need to get that back.”

Player-coach Josh Gowling could be back in contention after missing the last two matches with a shoulder injury. Midfielder Jack Byrne is also available after serving a one-match ban.
