TWO new £3 million classroom blocks to be built at Pershore High School are set to be constructed by Stepnell.

The modern buildings have been designed by Warwick-based architects Robothams and will replace outdated facilities, dating back to the 1970s, as well as giving the school space to expand.

The re-build has now begun and Stepnell’s Kidderminster team has started work on the programme, which will see a two-storey classroom block replaced with a brand-new new arts block.

The old single-storey arts block will also be replaced with a new ten-classroom building.

As part of the improvements, the redevelopment will enable the school to remove three mobile classrooms.

The new buildings are expected to be complete in March 2016.

John Shuttleworth, Stepnell contracts manager, said: "Our team has significant expertise in creating new educational facilities and we are delighted to be working with Pershore High School to help deliver these two new classroom blocks which will provide students and staff with an excellent environment for learning and teaching."
