HEROES of the community can be put forward to receive an award for their work during this year.
Wychavon District Council is looking for nominations for its annual Community Recognition Awards.
Open to the whole community, the awards give those who have volunteered, coached or helped others in the district a chance to gain well deserved recognition for their efforts in helping to make Wychavon a better place to live and work.
The council's community development team is looking for inspirational stories from people of all ages who have helped to improve their neighbourhood, club, society or community.
This year the categories are: young volunteer award, volunteer award, arts recognition award, sporting hero award, community project award, community group award, enabling healthy lives award and lifetime achievement award.
To nominate an individual or organisation complete an application form and return it by Wednesday, January 14 next year.
