Badsey Ladies 2, Ludlow 2 A MUCH improved performance saw Badsey share the points in Saturday's league match.

The first half proved very frustrating for the Evesham high School hosts as they failed to take advantage of their early dominance and allowed Ludlow to take a two-goal half-time lead.

However, after a couple of tactical switches by captain Rachel Leeming, Badsey were a different side in the second half.

Good distribution utilised the speed of the wide players with good combinations from Nikki Wright and Shelly Banner on the left and Sarah Rickey and Laura Moore on the opposite flank causing Ludlow all sorts of problems.

Midfielder and player of the match Angela Heath did a fantastic job closing down the Ludlow attacks, aided by the efforts of Karen Moore, Wendy Hardy, Fiona McNeish and Kate Worrall.

It wasn't long before Badsey pulled a goal back when Rickey pushed the ball past the keeper from close-range.

The equaliser then arrived courtesy of Zoe Hodgkins who beat the goal keeper with a good shot following Moore' great cross.

The last 15 minutes was fairly frantic as both sides sought a winner. Ludlow upped the pressure again and were awarded a penalty flick but Leeming saved well.

Badsey came close at the other end when a shot struck a post but victory eluded them as the visiting defence held firm.

Badsey will be looking to build on this performance when they tackle Stourport at home on Saturday (12).
