WEST Midlands Police has released footage of the moment a ride-by robber audaciously snatches a woman’s handbag in broad daylight in a bid to identify him.
The robber − described as white, aged 16 to 20, wearing a grey top, blue shorts and white trainers − was captured cycling along Daisy Street in Coseley when he made the grab at midday on June 9.
Detective Constable Nick Slym said: “The 68-year-old victim was needlessly pulled to the floor in this robbery, leaving her with bruising and shoulder pain… all for the sake of just £20.
“This robber clearly has no qualms about targeting a lone woman in the street and we’re determined not to let him get away with it.
“We’re releasing this CCTV footage in the hope it will prick somebody’s conscience into giving us his identity and I’d urge anyone who knows who he is to contact us on 101."
Alternatively, people can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
