AN open day at The Farm Animal Sanctuary in Middle Littleton will provide fun for all the family, according to organisers.

The event at Manor Orchard Farm on Sunday (September 6) from 1pm to 5pm will give visitors the chance to meet lambs, Shetland ponies, pigs, donkeys and a host of other animal friends.

There will also be a dog show, craft stands and stalls from a variety of animal charities.

Funds raised at the event will support The Farm Animal Sanctuary, which homes and cares for unwanted, abandoned and ill-treated farm animals, as well as other animal groups.

Jan Taylor, of the charity, said: “It will be a fun day out for everyone and give people the chance to come and meet our lovely rescued animals.

“We are also excited to be celebrating the recent purchase of our farm, which will secure the long-term future of our work.

“The event will be an animal welfare day and help raise awareness of our charity and the work of other animal charities.”

A video of Joanna Lumley, patron of The Farm Animal Sanctuary, touring the farm will also be shown at the event.

Entry costs £1 for adults, 50p for children aged 10 to 16 and is free for under-10s.
