THE Summer Reading Challenge, entertaining children this summer, is launching at Bidford Community Library.
The challenge begins at the Bramley Way-based library this Friday, July 16, running until Saturday, September 3.
Children who are members of the library are able to access the free reading challenge.
They are given a collector folder to keep a record of their reading challenge journey as they read six books of their choice.
As they read the books the youngsters receive a collectors card, that make up a set to complete their folder.
Each card features an original artwork by Quentin Blake, the illustrator of the Roald Dahl books - as this year is the celebrations of 100 years of the famous storyteller.
As part of the reading challenge the library's next Mad Science event on Friday, July 29, is inspired by Roald Dahl's stories.
Sessions take place between 10.30am and 11.30am, and from 11.45am to 12.45pm on the day.
Anyone interested in the event, or the reading challenge, is asked to call the library on 01905 773239, or simply pop into the library.
