WORCESTER Warriors scrum half Jonny Arr met with his namesake at a dogs rehoming centre.

Dogs Trust Evesham welcomed the 28-year-old who met Jonny the eight-month-old terrier puppy.

With the Six Nations in full swing, the trust hope that they can capitalise on the fever to get their dogs rehomed.

Mr Arr said: "As a big dog lover I am delighted to have one of the pups at Dogs Trust in Evesham named after me and I’m so pleased he has found a loving home. I’m sure he’ll be a winner with his new family.

“I think the work dogs trust does is fantastic and I’m happy to be able to lend my support to help the homeless dogs find new loving families. I really hope his kennel mates are all heading off to new homes soon.”

Chris Slight, rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Evesham, added: "We have dogs of all shapes at sizes at the centre, and whilst they may not be selected as forwards, props or scrum halves in a rugby line up, they all have one thing in common and that’s to find a winning home.

“We’re delighted to have the support of Jonny who was a big hit with his canine namesake and we’re all hoping that our other canine residents can score a home to call their own very soon.”
