A NEW jewellery shop has been officially opened by the Mayor of Malvern.
Malvern Goldsmiths, in Bellevue Terrace, was opened on Friday, March 10, at a ceremony attended by Mayor Councillor Cynthia Palmer.
The shop is owned by Rodney Randle, who also runs Quarter Jewellery in Worcester, and his wife Meihua Randle.
Mr Randle said: "It's lovely, it is a very nice shop and I'm not saying that because it is mine – it is a very nice shop, very comfortable.
"I first saw the shop three or four years ago. I just thought it would make an ideal jewellers. It is built as a old Victorian pharmacy.
"We will be operating as an old fashioned jewellery shop where we do everything that customers want us to do basically."
Mr Randle has been running Quarter Jewellery in The Shambles, Worcester, for 15 years – but started in the business aged just 17.
Malvern Goldsmiths will sell antique and second-hand gold and diamond jewellery, while staff will also take items for sale from customers.
