The opening of a new minigolf and high ropes course has set up for a record-breaking Easter holiday.
The Lost Valley opened at The Valley over the weekend, giving visitors the chance to play a round of 18-hole adventure golf or take to the skies on the Aztec-themed high ropes course.
And it looks to have proven a hit so far, with the shopping centre having seen a huge increase in footfall.
Emily Burton, retail commercial manager at The Valley, said: “The launch of The Lost Valley is another significant milestone in the success story of The Valley Evesham, further enhancing our existing leisure offer and adding to our distinctive mix.
“Now, more than ever, visitors are looking for an intergenerational outdoor memorable experience and The Lost Valley delivers it in abundance.
“After 18 per cent increase in footfall over the weekend compared to pre-pandemic levels, we are on track for a record-breaking Easter holiday.”
The Lost Valley was created and is managed by Aztec Adventure.
The company has said that in the first four days after launching, on Saturday (April 1), the attraction welcomed over 1,000 guests.
It is a time of much celebration for Aztec Adventure, which picked up a host of prizes at the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards 2022-23.
It was named Small Visitor Attraction of the Year and won Winner of Winners Award as well as being highly commended in the Experience of the Year Award.
A spokesperson for Aztec Adventure said: “In the run up to the opening there was an excitement and buzz on social media with the release of new images of the project, and this has carried on through the opening and beyond.
“People are thrilled to have a new attraction open in the local area.
“They’ve had lots of positive comments with visitors varying from children with grandparents, families and adults just wanting to have fun in the fresh air!”
Director Mark Spence added: “Easter is always an exciting time as we open our Upton Warren and Lower Moor sites for the 2023 season.
“It is even more so with the winning of these awards and the opening of The Lost Valley.
“All of us at Aztec Adventure are so excited for the season ahead!”
For those who haven’t visited yet, the 18-hole golf course features an Aztec temple, a wooden bridge, water features and a crashed plane, and is suitable for all ages.
Meanwhile, the high ropes course features 15 elements for to conquer, including a cargo net, swingy steps, see-saw steps and various wobbly bridges, climaxing with a 70-metre zip-wire descent.
