KFC has provided an update on a fire-ravaged restaurant.

The Kentucky Fried Chicken at Twyford Services in Evesham was devastated after a fire broke out in its kitchen last summer.

Now, almost ten months later, a spokesperson for the fast food chain has confirmed it will soon be reopening.

“We know our loyal fans in Evesham have been eagerly awaiting the reopening of our Twyford Services restaurant and we miss you too!" said the spokesperson.

"But fear not, we’ll be back at the fryers as soon as we can, serving up our delicious finger lickin’ chicken.

"Watch this space…”

A spokesperson for HWFRS said at the time: "The fire was inside a kitchen where waste oils and cylinders were present.

"The incident, in a single-storey building of modern construction, was sectorised with the fire fought by four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus using two hose reel jets and positive pressure ventilation.

"Utilities were isolated and the aerial ladder platform used for an aerial survey.

"With the incident scaled back to one appliance, who assisted with turning over and damping down, a thermal imaging camera was then used to check for hotspots, of which none were detected.

"Reinspections were then carried out at 9.30pm and 1.30am with a final full external check completed using the thermal imaging camera and a triple extension ladder."

It is not yet clear exactly when the restaurant will reopen.

KFC's website states the opening hours as being "undefined"
