A FARM shop is in celebration mode after winning a prestigious award.

Ellenden Farm Shop, near Evesham, has been named the Best Farm Shop or Deli in the 2023 Muddy Stiletto Awards for Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.

Owner Sara Turner is delighted with the achievement and said it wouldn’t have been possible without the shop’s customers.

She said: “We are incredibly thrilled and honoured to have won Best Farm Shop/Deli in the Gloucestershire and Worcestershire Muddy Awards 2023.

“This competition has been completely driven by our customers, they nominated us initially and then voted, which enabled us to win the competition.

“This makes the award extra special, and we very much value people’s continued support of our small family business.

"This award is recognition for everyone’s passion and dedication to the business which we have run for 16 years."

Ellenden Farm Shop, in Harvington, was opened in 2007 by Sara and her husband David.

It sells products grown locally, including award-winning asparagus and fruit from around the Vale of Evesham, as well as their own beef and lamb reared on the family farm in Coughton.

In 2017 the Farm Shop was extended to enable additional shop space to support more local suppliers, and to open a cafe, using where possible food from the farm shop.

Mrs Turner added: "Ellenden is a genuine working farm shop, three generations of the Turner family are running the farm rearing our own beef and lamb which we sell through the butchery in our farm shop; as well as growing our own plums, apples and pears.

"We support a number of small independent growers and producers both in the shop and cafe, all based in the Vale of Evesham.

"We pride ourselves in providing good old-fashioned customer service and are incredibly lucky to employ a great team of staff who are incredibly hard-working and live within the community."

Ellenden Farm Shop isn't the only local business celebrating success at the Muddy Awards.
