A man was rescued from the roof of his car after driving into a flooded ford.
The man, in his 50s, was rescued from Walcot Ford in Walcot Lane, Pershore, by firefighters last night (Sunday, October 29).
Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews - one each from Pershore and Worcester fire stations, plus the Water First Responders from Pershore and boat crews from Evesham and Hereford - attended.
“A vehicle was in water around 1.3m deep and a male driver in his 50s was rescued from the roof of his car by fire service personnel using a sled,” said a fire service spokesman.
“No other emergency services attended and the incident was marked as pending closure at 9.56pm.”
Walcott Ford is a known hotspot for cars getting stuck in floodwater and was the scene of a dramatic rescue earlier this year, when police officers formed a human chain to pull a woman from her car.
