Lynwood & Co Cafe opens in Moreton's former Picnic Box

Lynwood & Co Cafe has opened in The Corn Exchange, and its owners have big plans for their involvement in the Moreton community.

Owners Rob and Kats Broadbent, who also own another seven cafes under the Lynwood & Co brand, said the community is at the heart of everything they do which makes their coffee shops stand out.

"We are a local business and do not live in Swindon or Birmingham - we live local, and our staff is preferably from the village.

"You need to give to the community before you take something back."

Mr Broadbent said his cafes sponsor sports teams where they are based and work hand in hand with the charities in each village or town.

The cafes also donate food at the end of each day to struggling families to save it from going to waste, and new food is cooked fresh every day.

Lynwood & Co Cafe's Moreton branch opened yesterday (Monday).

Mr Broadbent said: "The opening was really good and the Moreton locals were happy to see us.

"We are a community-based cafe and do not rely on tourism - local consumption is our bread and butter."

Mr and Mrs Broadbent opened their first cafe in Lechlade nine years ago after moving to the UK from Australia. 

Then in 2017, customers banded together to help the pair branch out their business, and now they own cafes in Bampton, Burford, Carterton, Cirencester, Fairford and Northleach.

The two chose Moreton as their next destination due to its closeness to their other branches.
