Charles Taylor, owner and director, said: "Esmere Gardens is the newest addition to our family business.

"Following on from the family theme, it is actually named after the owner's daughter, so it is a very personal addition.

"It isn't just about technology.

The home has been designed with lighting that also changes its wavelength to match natural sunlight to help maintain a normal day and night rhythm.

It also has a call bell system that uses radar waves to automatically detect falls.

Mr Taylor added: "We are hoping to blend this use of technology with our expert clinical team to help make better clinical decisions around resident care, hopefully providing a better quality of life to our residents.
