An uncanny tribute to "Britain's Elvis Presley" is set to perform in Pershore next month.

Simon Goodall and The Bourne Again Shadows, a highly regarded tribute to Cliff Richard and The Shadows, will be bringing their toe-tapping show to Number 8 on Friday, April 12 at 7.30pm.

The tribute band has received much acclaim over the years, with fellow artists praising the show's authenticity.

Record producer Mike Hurst hailed their tribute, saying: ‘‘This band’s tribute to The Shadows is not only faithful, but immaculate.

"Close your eyes and it could be 1960.

"It's the real deal, and shouldn't be missed.”

Pete Lincoln, who worked in Richard's band, said: “The emulation of The Shadow’s sound is spot on, and the ‘Cliff’ vocals are uncanny.”

Simon Goodall's portrayal of Richard has also won high praise, including from the man himself.

The singer said that Goodall is "without doubt the best ‘Cliff Soundalike’ in the business".

The band's set list takes audiences back in time, covering the years 1959 to 1968.

It includes much-loved Cliff Richard hits such as 'Summer Holiday', 'Living Doll', 'Move It' and 'Please Don’t Tease', along with classic Shadows number one hits like 'Apache', 'Wonderful Land', 'Foot Tapper' and 'Dance On'.

Chris Wright, the band's drummer, spoke about the enduring appeal of the group.

He said it was "hard to credit" that Richard, at the age of 84, was still touring across the UK.

Reflecting on his own career, Wright said: "60 years after I started playing drums as a teenager, I have returned to the music that got me started back in the 60s."

Tickets for the tribute show are priced at £22 and can be purchased from the Number 8 Box Office or booked online at www.number8.org.
