A NEW nursery has opened at an Evesham primary school.
Mid Worcestershire MP Nigel Huddleston opened the extension to Bengeworth CE Academy which cost £715,000 and consists of two nursery classrooms, changing facilities and office space.
Bengeworth Trust CEO David Coaché said: “Staff and the local community have moved heaven and earth to ensure that families could benefit from high quality early years provision within Bengeworth CE Academy.
"Investment in local schools and their facilities is an investment in the future of Evesham, and our trust is incredibly grateful for the financial contributions made by supporters of this project to realise an ambitious vision for children’s education.”
The nursery can care for 60 children and aims to meet increased demand within the local school community.
Councillor David Chambers, cabinet member for education, at Worcestershire County Council said: “The new facilities at the school are fantastic, and I look forward to hearing how the children use them to develop, learn and grow.
"Facilities such as these, which focus on developing a child’s learning and key skills alongside the dedication of the staff ensures the children have a positive start in their education.
"Schools are a fundamental part of a community and it’s pleasing to see another excellent educational facility being built and ready for children to use in our county.”
