PERSHORE will be brought to life with a day of seasonal entertainment and activities as part of an upcoming Countdown to Christmas day.
The event will take place on Sunday, December 21 from 10am to 3pm and has been jointly organised by Wychavon District Council, Pershore Town Council and the town’s chamber of trade.
One of the main features of the day will be a traditional farmers market in Broad Street. A wide range of gifts will be on offer including holly garlands, vegetables and locally produced cider with visitors able to keep well refreshed by sampling a pig roast and mulled wine.
Entertainment will be provided courtesy of Pershore Community Choir who will be singing carols by the Christmas tree in Broad Street from 11.30am. Pershore Brass and Pershore Town Choir will be singing later on in the town centre walkway from 2pm.
Children have not been forgotten about either with Professor Pop-up’s Christmas show ‘The Pied Piper’ being performed free of charge on a first come, first served basis at Number 8 Community Arts Centre at 11.30am and 2pm.
The show is for those aged three to seven and face painting will also be available at Number 8 from 11am to 3pm.
Pershore Town Hall will be busy throughout the day with a rural craft fair and visitors will also have the opportunity to win a gift voucher by taking part in a shop window competition.
Many of Pershore’s independent shops are also opening up for the special event which will be rounded off with a Nine Lessons and Carols service in Pershore Abbey from 5pm.
