A FIRST class company of international dancers with a reputation for superb classical ballets and excellent artistic standards comes to the Roses Theatre with The Nutcracker in November.

Under the direction of Stanislav Tchassov, a former principal dancer of The Bolshoi Ballet, the magic of Christmas comes alive when a young woman called Clara dreams her toys are coming to life.

Moments of high drama - the mysterious Drosselmeyer’s spells, the fearsome battle between the rats and the toy soldiers - together with the stunning national dances of Arabia, China, Spain, and Russia, and the Nutcracker’s transformation into a handsome prince add to the celebration of this favourite story.

The piece, set to Tchaikovsky, is drenched in detail and enhanced by more than 45 beautiful, hand-crafted costumes and colourful sets.

Tickets to The Nutcracker at the Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury on Friday, November 13, cost £17 available from 01684 295 074.
