EVESHAM'S Relay for Life has gone live in anticipation of next year's event.

Last Wednesday, December 9 saw the relaunch of the relay website, giving teams plenty of chance to get involved.

Many teams were treated to the Relay relaunch party, which took place at the Bengeworth Club in September.

Cancer Research UK wanted registration numbers to exceed thise of previous years, and it appears they have.

Aimee Williams was the first to register, with her team ‘CBoobies’. Her mother Lynn followed with ‘Beauty and the Beach’.

Heather Yapp, Relay Team Recruitment Committee member, registered as team captain for ‘HB Car Tooners’.

The event itself is on the weekend of June 26 and 27, fro 24 hours from 12 noon until 12 noon the following day.

Gavin Yapp, chairman for Relay for Life Evesham, said: “In 2008 we saw the successful launch of the Relay for Life Evesham where 14 teams took part and raised £12,000.

“This year we set our sights on 20 teams and £20,000, but as usual the community of Evesham excelled once again, and raised an incredible £34,200 towards vital funds for Cancer Research UK. Here’s looking forward to an amazing 2010”.
