THE founder of an animal sanctuary in Middle Littleton is appealing for help in finding a driver who lost control and ploughed their car through her fence.

Janet Taylor, of Farm Animal Sanctuary, was horrified to discover on Tuesday (16) morning that 20 metres of fence enclosing a paddock next to School Lane had been destroyed overnight.

Earlier in the day, the paddock had been home to two rescued foals but luck would have it that Janet had moved them to another field.

“If we hadn’t moved them they could have been hit by the car or escaped,” she said.

“Whoever it was demolished about 20 metres of fence but we’ll have to replace 30 metres at a cost of £250 which is money we really haven’t got at the moment.

“If we find them, we can claim the money back off their insurance but they were extremely irresponsible to drive off.”

Bits of broken spoiler left at the scene have revealed the car to be a silver Corsa-type vehicle.
