A WASH house on Evesham’s riverside looks set to be in place by next April. The service will be used by boaters and is the brainchild of town councillor Andrew Dyke. He said at present there was no 24-hour facility of the kind in the area and that installing it would make Evesham more attractive to boaters. The cost of the facility, which will be maintained by the Avon Navigation Trust, is £10,000.
Coun Dyke asked the town council to contribute £5,000.
However, Coun John Smith said he would give £1,000 from his own ‘divisional fund’ pot, as part of his role as a county councillor, so the council contributed £4,000.
