FREE nursery education for disadvantage two-year-olds may be extended by 2013 meaning an increase in Worcestershire from 250 to 1,100 places.
In addition three and four-year-olds could access their 15 hour free entitlement more flexibly.
It is the governments intention to increased the number of free hours per week nursery education for disadvantaged two-year-olds from ten to 15.
The criteria used will be similar to that of determining which children will get free school meals.
Ministers are currently consulting on the legislation and eligibility and it is planned to be rolled out across England over four years from 2013.
