THIS photo taken by the Journal was used as crucial evidence by police in order to charge a teenager with criminal damage to Evesham’s War Memorial.
In December, the Journal reported on the desecration of the memorial. The graffiti was quickly removed and the only record remaining of the crime was the Journal’s photo.
PC David Shortell said: “It is really nice it was made available to the police and the courts.
“It is a lovely example of all the partners working together.”
A 15-year-old boy will appear at Worcester Youth Court on February 13 charged with causing £540 worth of damage to the war memorial in Abbey Park.
