HAVING read the letter by Chris Grove – complaining about the price of tickets at the Regal Cinema and that he will not support it – I must point out a few errors in his letter.
First the ticket prices are very much the same as a multiplex. I paid £9 to see a film prior to the Regal being open. This, however, did not include the cost of petrol used to travel to Cheltenham, Worcester or Stratford.
This additional cost would be the same.
Secondly, multiplex cinemas do not offer concessions for OAPs or children like the Regal does.
I think it’s brillant that somebody has invested in Evesham at a time when shops are closing and the Regal deserves support which I will more than happily give.
You would spent more than this on night out drinking or going to a meal but not have the enjoyment of the experience of a restored art deco cinema.
DOMINIC WHITING.
