A RECORD number of cyclists took part in this year’s blossom Trail Bikeaway, cycling an astonishing 6,200 miles around the Vale.
More than 160 cyclists started their journey from Hampton Ferry and raised about £1,500 for the Pershore Division of St John Ambulance.
Betty Hughes, president of the division, started the Bikeaway and wished all participants a wonderful day.
Tony Haines, Superintendent of Pershore Division, said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone who takes part in this event.
“It’s wonderful to think people travel so far to experience the beauty of this area and thankfully, once again the blossom was out and the weather stayed dry.
“This Bikeaway is one of our most important fund-raising events and support and enthusiasm for it seems to grow year on year.”
