TWO men were taken to hospital following a crash between two cars near Salford Priors last night.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the A46 northbound approaching Salford Priors island at about 5.30pm.

Three rapid response vehicles, one driven by a paramedic area support officer, attended along with a land ambulance crew and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “One man, who is in his seventies, had pain to a hip and his back and had a suspected fracture.

“He was given oxygen at the scene and was immobilised before being flown to the Major Trauma Centre at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

“Another man, in his forties, was experiencing spinal tenderness. He was also immobilised and was taken by land ambulance to the Alexandra Hospital.”
