A BROADWAY shop has been left with serious damage after a car collided with it this morning.

The Honda Civic hit the ladies clothing shop, Number 35, on the High Street at around 11.45am.

The female driver was assessed at the scene for minor injuries by the ambulance service but no one within the shop was injured.

Elaine Eastbury, the manager of Number 35 and neighbouring shop Armstrongs, was in the shop when the car hit.

She said: “There was a bang when it hit. The shop is structurally safe and we are still open but the car pushed the window and the Cotswold stone in underneath and the door won’t shut. We don’t know what the cost of the damage will be yet.”

Meanwhile, part of Fish Hill near Broadway was blocked today after a lorry shed its load of bricks.

Police were called to the incident near the B4632 Leamington Road shortly after 11.35am. The Highways Agency also attended to remove the bricks and the road was cleared at about 12.45pm.
