COLOURFUL costumes and good spirits were in plentiful supply at Evesham High School as thousands of pounds were raised for Cancer Reserch UK.

The Relay For Life has been held in the town since 2007 enjoying great success over the years as the event has grown.

Held from Saturday into Sunday, the highlights of this year’s event included the Survivors’ Lap of Honour, which sees those who have suffered from cancer complete a circuit, and the Candle of Hope ceremony after dark.

The 24-hour event sees the teams requiring at least one member on the move along the course at all times. The top fund-raising team so far this year is the Cider Mill Lager Monsters who are almost at the £5,000 mark.
