A MEMORIAL to a noted Evesham historian will be officially installed next
weekend.
Evesham Mayor, Coun Robert Raphael, will unveil the memorial to George May on Saturday, October 6, at 3pm at the Unitarian Chapel, Church Street, and a service will be conducted by minister Don Phillips.
Mr May was the author of the first History of Evesham published in 1834.
He was a prominent Evesham businessman in the early 1800s and ran a printing and publishing business from the premises now used by W H Smith in Bridge Street.
