Job alerts by text message

THE NFU is taking a pro-active approach to recruitment by becoming one of the first organisations in the country to launch a job vacancy text messaging service.

Anyone logging on to the NFU online careers page can now complete a registration form to provide personal information including job areas of interest and a mobile phone number.

The details will be kept on a database and SMS messages will then be used to alert potential candidates when the latest vacancies become available.

NFU’s Jenny Powell said: “Text messages are becoming increasingly popular and we hope this will give us a competitive edge when it comes to recruitment activity.”
