A POPULAR retired GP and mother-of-two from Worcester has died following a walking accident at a ski resort in France.
Former Worcester GP Eleanor Busher, aged 56, died during the accident in Ardent near Morzine in France. A tribute was also left on the St Martin's Gate Surgery website homepage. Dr Busher had been a GP in Worcester for 30 years, working for the Spring Gardens Group Medical Practice and St Martin's Gate Surgery where she was a partner.
Dr Busher who lived between Worcester and Malvern had been enjoying the last day of her skiing and walking holiday on Saturday, January 24 when she fell from a mountain path.
Her husband Guy said: “Elly was an experienced walker who loved the outdoors and was simply enjoying the end of a wonderful holiday with some of her dearest friends. Elly will be remembered by her family, friends and former colleagues as a wonderfully outgoing, sparkling personality who brought so much happiness to those who knew her. I would like to thank the French Mountain Rescue Service for their prompt and professional response.”
A friend who had been with her on holiday when she died said: "She was loved by her husband, children and many, many friends. She had such an outgoing, positive outlook on life and was very interested in many things. This is a tragic event." Her hobbies included travelling, walking, reading and music and she loved the outdoors.
Elly leaves her husband Guy and their two children Rebecca and Tom.
