PROCEEDS from a successful community fete in Worcester will bring a boost to a local hospice.
A cheque for £1,000, raised during the Warndon Villages Summer Fete, has been handed over to grateful staff at St Richard's Hospice.
The fete, held at the Lyppard Hub, in Ankerage Green, back in July, was hailed as the most successful ever, with hundreds flocking to enjoy a day of family fun.
Lyppard Hub manager Lauren Cartright and deputy manager Maxine Roberts said they were "delighted" to hand over the cheque to the hospice.
"Mrs Roberts said: "This donation was made possible with the help of the whole hub community, including Warndon Parish Council, Warndon Tesco, 20th Worcester Scouts, Lyppard Grange Pub and all the wonderful volunteers who helped make this year's summer fete the busiest and most successful yet."
