TODAY is likely to be cold and bright with wintry showers, according to the Met Office.
There will be an icy start for some, with sleet or snow in places, but the strong winds will ease through the day.
There will be sunny spells and frequent showers, turning heavy at times and wintry later, while temperatures are expected to reach 7 °C.
Overnight, wintry showers will continue but otherwise it will be dry and cold, with frost and ice in places, and temperatures plummeting to 0 °C.
