A YELLOW weather warning for snow is in place for Easter Monday, however, a Worcestershire forecaster has said it will not be a ‘horror show’ as has been predicted.
The Met Office has said there is the possibility of heavy snow over parts of the country, with a warning in place between 00.15am and 11.45pm on Monday.
The weather service says there is a slight chance of travel delays, cancelled rail and air travel, and that there may be power cuts and phone coverage issues.
However, Malvern-based Frank Hill, who worked for the Met Office for 42 years, has said: “There will be quite a bit of cloud and rain, but the overall threat of severe cold has gone.
“The risk of snow is quite small, maybe a little on the hilltops, but in general it’s too mild for snow over the Midlands.”
Dave Throup, environment agency manager for Herefordshire and Worcestershire, tweeted on Thursday that Monday “could be a horror show” of transient snow and cold, heavy rain.
