I WAS privileged to have a sneak preview of the art work for the Battle of Evesham carried out by our local schoolchildren their work is on display at the Evesham Almonry Heritage and Tourist Information Centre

- what talented children we have in our community find the time please and visit, you will be amazed.

On Friday I was at the the Peopleton Village Hall being entertained, when the Festival Players presented in association with EODS "Whatever Next" entertainment devised by Eric Jones and Viv Jones. These young men gave performances worthy of any professional Actors with an entertainment of poetry, comedy and of course extracts from the classics, Winston Churchill's speeches, and including an episode from the BBC sitcom "Porridge"

Saturday I was privileged along the my Town Council colleagues to attend the opening event in the commemorative Fortnight of the "Commemoration and Democracy Day in the Abbey Park. The weather was perfect a large crowd attended along with many young children. If you needed an education on the Battle of Evesham 750th Anniversary then, this was the place to be.

Our community are very lucky to have such a beautiful spot on our doorstep, I'm speaking of Hampton Ferry which held it's Annual Show on Sunday - so I was pleased to open the event along with the Deputy Mayor (Cllr Alan Booth). Great fun for all age groups such as a Climbing Wall, Elvis Tribute Act, Trade Stalls, Art Workshop, Evesham Martial Arts demonstrated their skills, Colin Pitts Evesham's Singer/Songwriter preformed a mix of songs and much more.

And coming up on the 8th is the Battle of Evesham Medieval Weekend. We have it all happening in Evesham.
