AFTER the summer break the September meeting was held at Bishampton Village Hall on Wednesday, September 16.

The Chairman, introduced members to Janet James from Solihull whose title was ‘I did it my way’ Janet told us she had been a national demonstrator since 1988 and sometimes rules have to be broken in flower arranging and do things your own way. Janet did six large arrangements talking about what had inspired through her years of demonstrating, judging and teaching and certainly has had many happy years with flowers and experiences to talk to us about. She is planning to go to The Far East again next year, to do more demonstrating and judging, explain that Ivy comes in plastic bags in Singapore as it is a very value part of flower arranging, how things are different on the other side of the world!

Janet’s flowers and use of plant material from her new garden was most impressive, her clever use of accessories, helped make the flowers look wonderful.

The Chairman, announced the sale of tickets for our Open Meeting in November to be held in No 8 in Pershore, many members, buying tickets and looking forward to seeing Sue Davis’s Christmas Demonstration.

Janet finished her arrangements and raffle tickets where at the ready and many members and guests left with arrangements made by Janet.

The next meeting will be at Bishampton Village Hall will be on Wednesday, October 21 at 7.30pm where Arnaud Metairie from Winchcombe will show us ideas from ‘His Garden Shed’. Visitors are always welcome.
