THE October Meeting took place at the Crawford Hall. John our vice president welcomed everyone and congratulated members on the excellent September Flower Show. The speaker for the evening was Dr Murray Mylechreest who gave us an informative talk on “Gardens in Trust”. The size of gardens varies from a small suburban garden to the much larger Kew Gardens. Trustees look after gardens for many reasons: Place of relaxation, the Pleasure of being in beautiful surroundings, Preservation, Conservation, Historical and Educational.

The monthly competition, 3 Dahlias was won by John Alexander-Head, 2nd Janice Ferguson, 3rd Tessa Webb. November’s meeting on 19th is the AGM with a Bring and Share meal. Our new year starts in December, so that is a good time to join, new members always welcome, we meet on the third Thursday in the month at the Crawford Hall at 7.30 for 8pm start.
